Monday (Slight Return)
Monday (slight return) is a work that was created within the project Drawing Sessions which was live streamed weekly from early autumn 2020 to late spring 2021.
Each session generated both a noise work and a graphic score. In Drawing Sessions Ann Rosén works with here self-built instrument that allows her to draw the music. She can instantly, in the moment, create sound and music by drawing with graphite on paper.
Monday (slight return) is a slightly edited section of one of the later Drawing Session live-streams and it is a structured improvisations that took place within the framework given by the paper in front of her. The sounds that Ann Rosén knead, transform, reshape process and modify when performing, where originally created by the horn player Sören Hermansson. Drawing Sessions has so far, beside the live-streamed concerts, generated the albums In a Small Room and Dilate.
Ann Rosén began her artistic career in the visual arts in the 1980s, and has since explored the interaction and communication between people through the continuous creation of new artistic expressions. These include social sculptures, choreographic works, sound art, choral works, sound installations, sculpted silence, performance and art music for small and large ensembles, such as her own orchestra The Barrier Orchestra. -
