I Rethinking tolkar Ann Rosén och Jesper Nielsen Anns partitur Recycling the Work Process ifrån boken med samma namn (2023). I tolkningen samspelar Jesper Nielsens gitarr med Ann Roséns grafitpennor som är kopplade till live-elektronik som vrider och vänder på gitarrsoundet, ibland till oigenkännlighet, med utgångspunkt i olika riktlinjer som resonans, noise och motstånd.

The Book
”Recycling the Work Process” contains a graphic score, texts and Rosén’s own pictures that help the reader to understand and interpret the graphic score. The score is a description — a way of conveying a feeling and an experience — of Ann’s forty-two-year artistic process. Based on works, projects and time periods, Ann Rosén has created symbols that she uses in the composition to indicate different types of playing styles, free to interpret: Resonance, Accelerando full stop, Back and forth, Change direction, Noise, Mute and Resistance. Essays by Bennett Hogg composer (UK), Gunnel Pettersson artist (SE) and Julian Cowley music journalist (UK).
Digital and analogue feedback networks. Sound and image in multiple dimensions. Malte Dahlberg, Sten-Olof Hellström, Liselotte Norelius and Ann Rosén offer an evening of electroacoustic magic and live electronic wizardry. Electric drawings, graphite, rubber, semiconductors and scattering junctions are some of the tools that form the basis for the evening’s music.
